- The USDA, Agricultural Research Service is seeking potential small business sources that can provide books, monographic series and related materials in the agricultural subject areas of Animal Science, Plant Science, Agricultural Chemistry, Agricultural Engineering, Agricultural Economics, Farming, Soils, Forestry, Animal Culture and Welfare, Botany, Food Science, Animal/Plant Genetics, Veterinary Sciences, Rural Sociology and Rural Life to list a few, for the National Agricultural Library (NAL) located in Beltsville Maryland. The applicable NAICS code is 424920 and size standard for this requirement is 500 employees. Sources shall be Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) certified for an Ex Libris Voyager integrated library system and capable of providing books, monographic series, and related materials in a wide range of agricultural subject areas through the use of both firm order and approval plan processing. Ordering information must be accessible on line, by way of the internet, 24 hours per day, seven (7) days per week with search ability by 1)titles or series, 2) ISSN or ISBN, 3)customer order or reference number, 4) vendor reference number, 5) order type (approval plans or firm orders, 6) subject category or classification. Potential sources shall have the ability to provide title notification services and display features as follows: 1) bibliographic/order information for each firm or approval title including title, publisher, ISBN, price , publication dates, invoice payment information for at least the current and previous year and order statuses including number of time claimed. All interested qualified small business sources are invited to respond to this announcement no later than close of business (COB) March 29, 2007 by providing the following: 1) A Capability Statement of technical qualifications meeting the above SOW requirements, 2) Company literature/documentation supporting experience in the same or similar work; for which certification was required, and size of requirement (in dollars) for the past three (3) years, and 3) EDI Ex Libris Voyager certification information. Submission limited to 8 pages. NO SOLICITATION EXISTS AT THIS TIME. THIS NOTICE IS INTENDED TO IDENTIFY POTENTIAL SMALL BUSINESS SOURCES.
