- Description
- The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has a requirement for the acquisition of eight (8) RF Bandpass filters. The purpose of each filter is to eliminate the interference caused by the long pulse width of the ASR-11 into the National Weather Service NEXTRAD Radar. The required specification value of each filter was determined to be in concert with NTIA and the NWS. The filters type is standard "iris and vane" architecture due to the size of the waveguide and the desired length of the filter (WR284 waveguide with CPR-284 flanges, 36 inches long). It has been determined that a chebshov filter design will also work. The FAA has additional specifications for each separate filter, which will be provided to the qualified vendors if the FAA chooses to take further action towards the procurement. Potential sources must provide a capabilities statement and examples that demonstrate the vendor's capability to provide the prescribed RF Bandpass Filters. Only responses providing the required information in response to this market survey will be considered prior to further action by the FAA. Any information received as a result of this announcement will not be provided to other contractors and will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. The final determination by the Government not to open this requirement to competition, based on any information provided, is solely within the discretion of the Government. Mark responses to this market survey with Market Survey File 07-00646, to arrive by April 6, 2007, no later than 2:30 pm CST. Facsimile responses are permitted at 405-954-9219. Email responses are permitted at kelly.tillery@faa.gov. The FAA will not pay for any information received or costs incurred in preparing responses to this market survey. Any proprietary information should be so marked. This market survey shall not be construed as a request for proposal or as an obligation on the part of the FAA to acquire these items. Responders to this market survey may be asked to provide additional details/information based on their initial submittal.
