Description

The Social Security Administration (SSA) intends to negotiate a sole-source modification to an existing contract 0600-03-60136 with Baltimore Sound Engineering, Inc to increase the scope of the contract for Public Address (PA) Warranty at SSA?s Main Campus in Baltimore, MD, to include maintenance and repairs to all SSA?s PA systems located in Woodlawn, MD and various outlying buildings. The contract was awarded to Baltimore Sound Engineering, Inc. on August 04, 2003 through August 03, 2008. Baltimore Sound Engineering, Inc. is the only source that has the Source code to program and interface with the system and is the only source with the proprietary knowledge to interface SSA?s current PA console and maintain it. The proposed contract action is for supplies or services for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 6.302. Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement or submit proposals. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. However, all proposals received by March 27, 2007 will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government not to compete with this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
