Description

The Michael E. DeBakey VA Medical Center (MEDVAMC) intends to negotiate and award a sole source contract under the authority FAR 6.302-1 to Cepheid for purchasing the GeneXpert ® 16 System which is needed to implement the VHA Directive 2007-002, Methicilin-Resistant Staphylococcus Aureus (MRSA) Initiative. This notice is issued for information purposes and not a request for competitive proposals. A determination by the Government not to compete the proposed contracts based on responses from this notice is solely within the discretion of the government. This is an unrestricted sole source procurement. The North American Industry Classification System Code (NAICS) for this procurement is 334516, and the small business size of 500 employees or less applies to this procurement.
