Description
The VA Medical Center, 325 New Castle Rd., Butler, PA is seeking the services of a qualified Architect-Engineer to provide structural and other design services, for Project 529-07-113, Structural Analysis for Bldgs. 1 and 2, Floors. A qualified structural Engineer with a professional Engineer?s license to provide structural analysis, design, and complete bid documents providing necessary structural support for four (4) patient rooms to have patient lifts installed with minimal impact on patient rooms, and necessary structural support to have a hydro tub installed on the first floor of Bldg. No. 2 for Physical Therapy Section. Work will include site investigation, working drawings and specifications, estimates, and construction period services including review of submittals, site visits, inspections of construction, etc. Design to be completed within sixty-five (65) calendar days. The estimated construction is $100,000.00 to $250,000.00. In accordance with P.L. 100-656 Small Business Competitive Demonstration Program Act of 1988, this is a total emerging small business set-aside. The NAIC codes are 541310 and 541330. Average annual receipts for the past 3 fiscal years under this code is $4.0 million, therefore, the emerging small is $2.0 million. THIS IS NOT A REQUEST FOR PROPOSAL. The geographical area of consideration is a 50 mile radius of the VAMC Butler, PA. This project is subject to the availability of funds. All interested firms are required to submit two recent completed Standard Form SF 330 on or before April 5, 2007, 4:00 PM. Selection criteria will be in accordance with FAR 36.602-1, which will include at a minimum: (1) Team proposed for this project including background of project manager, consultants and other key personnel (2) Proposed management plan including team organization for design phase and construction phase (3) Previous experience of proposed team (4) Location of facilities and working offices of prime firm and consultants (5) Proposed design approach for this project including proposed design philosophy and potential solutions to any anticipated problems (6) Estimating effectiveness, include the ten most recently bid projects (7) Sustainable design including team design philosophy and method of implementing (8) Insurance and litigation including type and amount of liability insurance carried and any litigation involvement over the last 5 years and its outcome.
