- The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) intends to procure the following radiation detection equipment from Thermo Fisher Scientific., 5981 Airport Road, Santa Fe, NM 87507, on a sole source basis: 1)Radiation Detector, ICx Radiation model identiFINDER-Ultra-S-NGH (with Cs-137). Mandatory Features: LED stabilization and Cs-137 stabilization with 3 nCi Cs-137 installed in detector end cap, 1.4" x 2" NaI gamma, detector, He-3 neutron detector, GM gamma detector, data transfer software for MS Windows, USB interface with cables, spare battery, power supply/battery charger with cables, holster, and carrying case. Part number IDF-NHG ULTRA 2)Radiation Detector. Thermo Electron FHT 1377 PackEye Backpack, Gamma Neutron Radiation Search Device. Includes: 1 ea. Plastic Scintillator Gamma Detector, 2 ea. He-3 Neutron Detector tubes (2.5 bar), display and control module, earphone, spare rechargeable battery pack, charger. Part number 4255051 3)Thermo Fisher Interceptor, Model INT-GNid Standard unit w/CZT finder detector, high resolution CZT identification detectors, 3He neutron detector, voice recorder, docking clip, USB cable, power supply, battery clip, manual & software CD, and pelican case. Part Number INT-GNID 4)Thermo Fisher RadEye PRD, Pocket?sized personal radiation detector: NaI(Tl)-detector with Photomultiplier, gamma detection from 30 keV;energy compensated dose rate calculation (60 keV ? 1.3 MeV); measuring range 1 ?R/h ? 25 mR/h. Part number 4250671. DHS believes that Thermo Fisher is the only provider of the items. Any firm that believes it can meet the requirements of this Notice must provide written notification to the Contract Specialist, Phorsha Peel, at phorsha.peel@dhs.gov, by Monday, March 19, 2006, 3:00PM EDT. A firm submitting information should provide supporting evidence in sufficient detail to demonstrate the capability of the firm to provide the equipment. Reference numbered note 22.
