Description
THE NAVAL EXPLOSIVE ORDNANCE DISPOSAL TECHNOLOGY DIVISION HAS A REQUIREMENT FOR A PERSONAL SECURITY COURSE OF INSTRUCTION NOT TO EXCEED FIVE CONSECUTIVE DAYS. THE COURSE WILL BE USED TO TEACH DEPLOYING PERSONNEL A VARIETY OF RISK MITIGATING TECHNIQUES INVOLVING VEHICLE BORNE OPERATIONS. INSTRUCTION MUST PROVIDE TRAINING TO THE NOVICE TO EXPERIENCED OPERATOR, FUNDAMENTAL FORCE PROTECTION, SURVEILLANCE DETECTION AND SECURITY DRIVER TECHNIQUES. CLASSROOM INSTRUCTION REQUIRED FOR ANALYSIS OF KIDNAPPING, TERRORIST ATTACKS AND METHODS OF PREDICTING AND PREVENTING ATTACKS, PRE-INCIDENTS INDICATORS OF ATTACKS, TRAVEL PATTERN ANALYSIS AND ATTACK RECOGNITION. THE FOLLOWING TOPICS MUST BE COVERED THOROUGHLY BOTH IN CLASSROOM AND PRACTICAL APPLICATION VEHICLE BAILOUTS, BALLISTIC REVIEW OF VEHICLES, INSTINCTIVE DRIVING TECHNIQUES, PASSENGER PROFICIENCY DRIVING TECHNIQUES, ESCAPE AND EVASIVE DRIVING, AND PURSUIT COUNTERING TECHNIQUES.
