Description
The U.S. Maritime Administration, South Atlantic Region Contracts Office, has a requirement for Annual Inspection of Ansul Fire Detection System, the Fixed Fire Extinguishing System, and the Portable Fire Extinguishers onboard the T. S. STATE OF MAINE berthed at the MAINE MARITIME ACADEMY at Pleasant Street, Castine, ME 04420. The contractor shall provide service technician(s) along with labor, equipment and material to go on board the T.S. STATE OF MAINE to perform an annual inspection of the ship?s following: Ansul IQ-301 and LCD 80 Fire Detection System. These systems include 150 photovoltaic/ionization smoke detectors, 31 thermal detectors, 8 photovoltaic/thermal detectors, 75 manual alarm stations, and 13 alarm bells/strobe; inspection of 8 single cylinder Halon system, one (1) 2-cylinder system and machinery spaces Halon systems, 30 Halon cylinders and 6 activation CO2 cylinders; and the inspection of 102 - #10 dry chemical, 17 - #20 dry chemical, 18 - #2.5 dry chemical, and 49 - #15 CO2 fire extinguishers. All inspections must be in accordance with ABS/USCG requirements. This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in FAR Subpart 12.6, in conjunction with FAR 13.5, and as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; quotes are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. The solicitation number is and is issued as a request for quotation (RFQ). The solicitation document and incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular FAC 05-15. The associated North American Industrial Classification System (NAICS) code for this procurement is 922160 with a small business size standard of less than 500 employees. This requirement is set aside 100% for small business and only qualified offerors may submit a quote. The following FAR clauses apply to this solicitation.
