Description
The United States Coast Guard Maintenance & Logistics Command, Atlantic intends to issue a Commercial Request for Quote (RFQ) for Dry-dock and repair to the USCGC GANNET (WPB-87334). The Coast Guard intends to conduct the procurement in accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Part 12, Acquisition of Commercial Items, and FAR Subpart 13.5, Test Program for Certain Commercial Items. The simplified acquisition will be issued as a Request for Quote (RFQ), on or about 7 April 2007. The RFQ will be issued via the Federal Business Opportunity (FEDBIZOPS) web page at www.eps.gov. Hard copies of the specification and solicitation will not be issued. A CD-ROM containing all applicable drawings will be sent via U.S. mail, if requested. Send all requests via e-mail to Viki.J.Frey@uscg.mil. It is incumbent upon contractors to monitor the FEDBIZOPS web page for RFQ release and all subsequent amendments. FEDBIZOPS also contains and option automatic notification service. The NAICS code is 336611. The acquisition will be solicited as a Small Business Set-Aside. The vessel?s home pier is located at Fort Lauderdale, Florida. The performance period will be FOURTY-TWO (42) days with a start date on or about 16 July 2007. The scope of the acquisition is for, but not limited to, the following Base items: (1) Remove, Inspect and Reinstall Propeller Shafts, (2) Stern Tube/Strut Alignment Inspection, (3) Inspect Water Lubricated Shaft Bearings, (4) Remove, Inspect and Reinstall Propellers, (5) Preserve Transducer Hull Rings, (6) Overhaul and Renew Valves, (7) Remove, Inspect, and Reinstall Rudder Assemblies, (8) Preserve Rib Wet Notch Deck and Stern Door Interior Surface, (9) Coating System Visual Inspection, (10) Painting of Draft Marks, (11) Preserve Freeboard, (12) Renew Cathodic Protection System, (13) Inspect Transducer Fairing, (14) Routine Dry-docking, (15) Provide Temporary Logistics, (16) Remove, Inspect and Reinstall Stern Launch Door Pivot Pins, Bushings and Washers, (17) Repair and Preserve Forepeak Compartment, (18) Inspect Hull Plating, (19) Preserve Surfaces in the Lazarette, (20) Renew Longitudinal. Trained welders who have been certified by the applicable regulatory code performance qualification procedures shall accomplish all welding and brazing.
