- The National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency (NGA) anticipates the release of a Blanket Agency Announcement (BAA) on www.grants.gov for the NGA University Research Initiatives (NURI) Program on or about 20 March 2007. NGA expects to award eight to ten new grants this year. The level of each award will be about $150,000 per year (on average) for one base year and one to three optional, follow-on years. NGA anticipates soliciting proposals in research topic areas 1 through 7 that are described below. NGA is interested in receiving comments now on these topics from prospective researchers. In particular, NGA is interested in the following: 1) Relationship of research sought to the current state of the art. That is, has the proposed research been done already? Is it feasible? Is there relevant work that NGA does not appear to know about; 2) Clarity of the topic description; 3) Probable research outcomes and their usefulness. Comments on each topic should be sent by electronic mail to the NGA mailbox dedicated to that topic prior to 20 March 2007: Topic 1: nuri07t1@nga.mil, Topic 2: nuri07t2@nga.mil , etc. NGA staff scientists will reply selectively and individually to submitted comments, depending on the type and content of the comments that are received. Please include your research background, the name of the research institution where you work, and other information that would help NGA staff in understanding the basis and context of your comments. If you wish to be contacted by NGA staff to further discuss a topic, please include your name, email address, and telephone number, and the research institution where you work.
