- Description
- The General Services Administration on behalf of M.A. Mortenson, Inc will be accepting proposals from experienced subcontractors for the construction of structural concrete upgrade for the William Kenzo Nakamura Courthouse located in Seattle, WA. The basic scope of work includes seismic structural upgrades to existing courthouse building (original structural built in 1939 consisting of basement, ten (10) levels, and two (2) penthouse levels) as described herein: New footings and foundation system that will tie into existing foundation, added concrete shear walls at building's four exterior corners from Basement through Level 4, 6" structural topping slab at Level 3 roof, and three new core shear walls from Basement through Level 6 with drag struts and diaphragm strengthening. In addition this scope includes structural concrete deck in-fill at Level 10 (approximately 2,500sf) and new structural beams at multiple levels. Estimated value of work package is $1.8 to $2.2 million. The subcontract will be procured as a competitive Request for Proposal (RFP) with award to the lowest bidder resulting in a Firm Fixed Price subcontract.
