- Description
- The Naval Air Systems Command intends to award a contract on a sole source basis to AMI Industries Inc, 1275 North Newport Road, Colorado Springs, CO 80916 (cage code 31218) which is a wholly owned subsidiary of Goodrich Company for engineering and logistics support to adapt and integrate Non-Developmental Item (NDI) cushioning materials into SJU-4/13/14 ejection seats flown in AV-8B and TAV-8B aircraft. Award will include testing of developed endurance enhancements and options for procurement of initial fleet outfitting. The resulting contract will be a firm-fixed price with a base year and two option years. The integration of endurance enhancement into the existing escape system requires a thorough understanding of the ejection seats operation including the dynamics of the ejection, the effect of the seated surface in transferring loads to the aircrew, the physical interfaces and the potential for interference with the ejection sequence. AMI Industries, as the seat designer and manufacturer, is the only firm possessing the knowledge, facilities, equipment, and technical data necessary to meet the government's requirement. The contract specialist for this requirement is Mrs. Denise M. Farmer at (301) 757-3667 or email at Denise.Farmer@navy.mil.
