Description
The U.S. Marine Corps is conducting a Request for Information (RFI) to determine the availability of Foreign Comparative Test (FCT) of a commercial-off-the-shelf (COTS) Training AK47 that is converted for 5.56mm Special Effects Small Arms Marking System (SESAMS) marking cartridges. This Training AK47 must be able to fire marking cartridges DODIC AB05 and DODIC AB06 that are tested and approved by the Naval Surface Warfare Center, Crane Division (NSWC Crane). The Training AK47 will provide Marines with the capability of force on force training as realistically as possible when engaged by adversaries in a MOUT Urban Warfare environment as in OIF and OEF. The Training AK47 shall be designed to prevent accidental chambering and firing of lethal 5.56mm service ammunition of any type.
