Description

This project consists of general upgrades to the water system at Allingham Guard Station and campground. It includes demolishing and disposing of the existing well pumphouse, abandoned RV sanitary dump station and miscellaneous water piping and appurtenances. Work also includes well head modifications, replacement of the submersible well pump, supply and installation of a new pumphouse and associated internal plumbing, related electric power and control upgrades, a new 4-inch distribution waterline, a new 2-inch supply waterline for future connection to the water storage tank, 4-inch reduced pressure principle backflow prevention assembly and insulated enclosure and miscellaneous hydrant faucets. Work will include clearing, excavation, RV dump station tank pumping, backfill, grading and pavement and surface restorations. Work is expected to start the fall of 2006 or spring of 2007 depending on weather conditions and will be completed 180 days after commencement.
