- Description
- The Topographic Engineering Center (TEC), located in Alexandria, VA, has a requirement for an Energy Dispersive X-Ray Fluorescence Microscope. The purpose of this Request for Information (RFI) is to determine (i) if there are sources capable of satisfying the governments requirements; (ii) to determine availability of commercial items or, to the extent commercial items suitable to meet governmen ts needs are not available, non-development items are available that: (A) Meet governments requirements; (B) Could be modified to meet the governments requirements; or (C) Could meet the governments requirements if those requirements were modified to a reasonable extent; (iii) to determine the extent to which commercial items or non-development items could be incorporated at the component level; and (iv) to determine the practices of firms engaged in producing, distributing, and supporting commercial it ems, such as terms for warranties, buyer financing, maintenance, and packing and marking. No proposals are being requested or accepted under this RFI. Feedback addressing the clarity, feasibility, scope, and potential alternative means of meeting the governments requirement is sought. Your response should identify your business size (large o r small). Capabilities Package: TEC is assuming the existence of sources and is requesting capability packages from industry on the requirements below. We are seeking for sources with all of the necessary items listed below and are also able to address their abilit y and/or approach with partners of 90% of the remaining functions. Interested Sources shall possess an in-depth understanding of the requirements listed below. Responses must be limited to no more than 20 pages and must address the following specific are as: 1. X-Ray Generator: 50kV Maximum, 1mA, Rh target 2. High Sensitivity and spatial resolution through use of a Single X-Ray Guide Tube (10 micrometers or less) 3. Fluorescent X-ray Detector: High Purity Si Detector (Xerophy) (LN2 cooled) 4. X-Ray transmission detector for X-ray transmission imaging 5. Energy Range: 0~40 keV, elements detected: Na to U (with sample at normal atmospheric pressure 6. Video Camera: (x100) enhanced optical image of sample. Observation is coaxial with X-Ray beam design. Measurement Position Setting from the Optical Image. 7. Video Camera(s): At least two in addition to number 6 above. Full sample optical image observation system (X2~X16) 8. High precision XY mapping stage. Minimum step 2 microns. Scanning Range: Maximum 100 mm x 100 mm x 60 mm 9. Maximum Sample Size: 350 mm x 400 mm x 85 mm 10. Computer Driven 11. Mechanical vaccum pump 12. OS: Windows XP 13. Hyperspectral imaging acquisition, processing, and presentation software 14. INCA Analyzer easy set up of point, line scan and mapping experiments; spectral acquisition and presentation of spectra, quantitative analysis and easy reporting functions 15. Reliable easy element identification with accurate Auto identification and spectrum overlay for investigating peak overlaps 16. Accurate determination of element composition which works for all types of samples and at all conditions 17. Smart Mapping software that provides a spectrum image datacube which acts as a virtual sample for future detailed analysis 18. Point and ID for image centric analysis for analyzing materials where spatial information is important 19. Easy archiving, reporting, and exporting 20. Qualitative Analysis Functions: Automatic Qualitative Analysis Multi-Point Analysis Matching 21. Quantitative Analysis Functions, Analytical Curve Quantification 22. Mapping Analysis: Simultaneous Mapping of the Penetrating Image and Fluorescence Image, Pseudo Color, RGB 23.
