- REQUEST FOR INFORMATION ONLY NOT A REQUEST FOR PROPOSALS. Request Vendor information for potential buy of 7,000 Solar Powered Streetlamps that meet the following criteria and standards: 1. The luminary, photovoltaic module and battery enclosure shall be designed in such a way as to give protection against gun shot and vandalism. 2. The luminary and photovoltaic module shall be designed in such a way that they can be easily fixed to different types of support. Supports my be steel tubular poles, steel lattice poles, steel octagonal poles, wood poles or fixed direct to masonry buildings. 3. The battery system shall be sufficient to supply the luminary continuously at full power for a period of 12 hours without the need for re-charging. 4. The photovoltaic module shall have sufficient capacity to charge the battery from an uncharged state to full capacity in a period of eight hours. 5. The luminary output shall be 3700 to 5000 Lumens. 6. The battery shall be deep cycle, maintenance free. 7. The intended fixing height of the solar luminary will be 6 meter plus or minus 2 meter. General Requirements: The design shall allow all necessary precautions for the safety of operation and maintenance personnel. All the equipment shall be designed to obviate the risk of accidental short circuit or damage due to insects and vermin. The materials used shall be suitable for the following climatic conditions: Ambient Temperature: Highest maximum (in the shade) + 55 C Lowest minimum - 10 C Maximum yearly average + 30 C Maximum daily average + 40 C Sun Temperature: Black objects under direct sunshine may attain a temperature of 80C Air Humidity Maximum 92% at 40C Minimum 12% Yearly average 44% Altitudes: From sea level up to (1000m) Sand Storms: Equipment shall be able to operate in a fine dust particle environment. In general the atmosphere is very dusty which may result in a layer of dust being deposited on all exposed surfaces. Fine dust particles may penetrate even through minute openings, covering all equipment inside panels, marshalling boxes, and kiosks. Standards: All the equipment and accessories shall be in accordance with the latest issue of the International Electro-technical commission (I.E.C.) specifications. Where these specifications are incomplete, then the national standards of the contractors country shall be considered subject to our approval. Contractors shall submit two copies of I.E.C standard compliance with their offer.
