- Modification Number 2 to the synopsis entitled Aerospace Education Service Project (AESP) which was posted on January 10, 2007 is hereby issued. You are notified of the following additional information which is provided to potential recipients: A summary of the questions recieved and LARC responses regarding this CAN are posted at: http://dml.larc.nasa.gov/aesp/can next to the button entitled "Questions/Answers Regarding the CAN". Additional information is also added to the url at: http://dml.larc.nasa.gov/aesp/ Your attention is invited to the new data posted next to the button entitled: "Executive Summary of the 2004 Final Report on the Evaluation of the NASA AESP Program by Western Michigan University" Due to the number of questions received regarding recipient eligibility, be advised the recipient eligibility will be based upon the requirements that are set forth in the CAN. Your attention is invited to pages 3 (Executive Summary), 7-9 (Responsibilities of Recipient), and 11 (Paragraph A) of the CAN. Your attention is also invited to the Grants and Cooperative Agreement Handbook at http://ec.msfc.nasa.gov/hq/granta.doc specifically, 1260.12, paragraph (c) (2) which states in part: "(2) Education grant. ...An education grant is an agreement that provides funds to an educational institution or other nonprofit organizations within one or more of the following areas: (i) Capturing student interest and/or improving student performance in science, mathematics, technology, or related fields; (ii) Enhancing the skill, knowledge, or ability of teachers or faculty members in science, mathematics, or technology; (iii) Supporting national educational reform movements; (iv) Conducting pilot programs or research to increase participation and/or to enhance performance in science, mathematics, or technology education at all levels; and (v) Developing instructional materials (e.g., teacher guides, printed publications, computer software, and videotapes) or networked information services for education;" Inconsistencies between the first year amount set forth on pages 3 and 11 of the CAN are hereby corrected to read $4.3M in each place. The due date for responses IS NOT changed and remains at March 30, 2007. Offerors are responsible for monitoring this site for any documents relating to this CAN. Potential offerors are responsible for downloading their own copy of the solicitation, modifications to the synopsis and amendments (if any). Potential offerors are reminded that ALL correspondence regarding this can should be in writing and addressed to Sharon.A.Harper@nasa.gov You are notified that any verbal responses received from any individual other than Sharon Harper should not be relied upon in preparing your proposal.
