Description

PRIEST LAKE RANGER DISTRICT, BONNER COUNTY, IDAHO. Work consists of installing fiberglass screen bags over conelets, installing flower bags, monitoring flowers for development, monitoring and collecting pollen, pollinating flowers, and removing the flower bags after pollination and collecting cones in the Canyon Creek White Pine Orchard. Location: Canyon Creek Seed Collection Orchard is located in the Priest River Experimental Forest, approximately 12 miles north of Priest River, Idaho. The plantation is approximately 21 acres and was planted in 1971. The work will take place in trees that are between 40 and 85 feet tall. The Contractor shall furnish all labor, transportation, supplies (other than Government Furnished), supervision, and incidentals necessary to perform all work safely and within the specifications. Climbing spurs to gain access into the crowns or rappelling from trees is not allowed. Installation of insect bags is expected to commence April 26th, 2007 and the remainder of the work to start June 7th. Cone collection will take place the end of August or first part of September. Specific work will be ordered by task order. The period of performance of his contract is from notice to proceed through September 2009.
