Description
Sandpoint Ranger District, Bonner County, Idaho. This contract is for subsoiling and landing rehabilitation on the Sandpoint Ranger District of the Idaho Panhandle National Forests. The contract will consist primarily of performing soil decompaction of skid trails and small landings and rehabilitating 3 large landings by ripping, pulling back soils and scattering woody debris. The contractor shall furnish all labor, transportation, supplies, (except the designated Government-furnished property), supervision, and incidentals necessary to perform all work within the specifications. Location. The project work is located within the Little Blacktail Timber Sale on the Sandpoint Ranger District of the Idaho Panhandle National Forests. GOVERNMENT-FURNISHED PROPERTY. Grapple-rake with attached subsoiling shanks shall be provided by the USFS, valued at $6500. It is currently configured for attachment to a Komatsu PC 120-6 with a 4AP-SM quick coupler. Attachment for a different configuration will require mounting ears supplied by the Contractor. By having the contractor supplying the mounting ears there is more flexibility in the excavator type to be used. The Contractor shall be responsible for picking up and returning the equipment to the Sandpoint District Office. Mounting ears would be attached to the implement and removed before return by the contractor, and the original (USFS) mounting ears returned. The contractor shall supply the thumb, which must be 48 inches tall and 24 to 48 inches wide. Maintenance and repair of the grapple rake/subsoiling implement shall be the responsibility of the Contractor. To view the equipment, contact Sandpoint Ranger District, Jeff Pennick, (208) 265-6678
