Description
The Kansas City Commodity Office (KCCO), Farm Service Agency, U.S. Department of Agriculture is a buyer of domestic food commodities for use in various foreign food assistance programs. All contractors interested in offering commodities shall comply with KCCO's qualification requirements as required by the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Part 9.202(f). The qualification requirements are available at: http://www.fsa.usda.gov/FSA/webapp?area=home&subject=coop&topic=pas-vr The following commodities are classified under the NAICS code referenced above and are purchased by the International Procurement Division, KCCO. CANNED SALMON (CPS): The salmon shall be packed in the United States in accordance with: (1) the applicable Commercial Item Description; (2) the Technical Data Supplement (TDS-CPS) (June 27, 2003), including the Federal Food and Drug Administration Standard of Identity and Fill of Container for Canned Salmon, 21 C.F.R. 161.70; (3) the Good Manufacturing Practice regulations (21 CFR Part 110); and (4) additional requirements as prescribed in the Salmon Control Plan, by year. The invitation shall specify the type of salmon. The canned pink salmon shall have a shelf life of at least one year from date of manufacture. Container and packaging requirements are those used in current commercial shipping practices.
