Description
The Federal Bureau of Prisons intends to make a single award to a responsible quoter for roofing repairs to bring the existing Carlisle Ethylene Propylene Diene Monomer (EPDM) ballasted system to meet manufacturer's design and warranty for five (5) years. The place of performance is the Federal Correctional Institution, Two Mile Drive, Otisville, NY. The repairs will be to seven (7) buildings, for an approximate total of 162,000 square feet of roof . The repairs are to include but are not limited to: clean and prepare existing EPDM at the seams, install 6" pressure sensitive EPDM membrane over these areas, install new uncured EPDM corner flashings on all existing rooftops, all existing leaks to be repaired and flashed, penetration and corner flashings to be addressed where necessary to bring roof system up to manufacturer's design criteria, any masonry saturation above U9 terminations to be addressed with masonry water seal (2' minimum and 4' maximum), and walkway pads to be reinstalled where necessary . The contractor will be responsible for furnishing all equipment, materials, technical expertise, labor, transportation, tools and other supplies required to complete the entire roofing project. A site visit is required (unless already familiar with the institution) prior to the proposed deadline. All contractors entering the secure confines of a Federal Prison are subject to a limited background investigation. All Federal, State and local construction, safety and labor laws including Davis Bacon Wage Rates are to be strictly abided by during the duration of the project. The removal and disposal of all waste generated by the project is the responsibility of the contractor. A copy of all waste disposal manifests must be provided for review after disposal of any materials deemed hazardous, or having an impact on the environment. Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) for all chemicals to be used must be provided to the institution's Safety department before work begins. The solicitation for this project will be made available on or about February 23, 2007, and will be posted to the Federal Business Opportunities website: http://www.fbo.gov. All future information regarding this acquisition, including solicitation amendments, will also be distributed through this site. The anticipated date for receipt of quotes is on or about March 26, 2007.
