Description
DESC: The U.S. Department of Commerce (USDOC), International Trade Assistance (ITA), US Export Assistance Center, in Minneapolis, MN has a requirement for support services. The contractor shall be required to provide marketing and research services in support of Commerce?s Rural Export Initiative (REI) at the US Export Assistance Center (USEAC) located in Minneapolis, MN. This is for a base period and four option years. Duties and Responsibilities: 1)Work with local non-profit and governmental partners in rural communities to identify and recruit clients for rural events. 2) Design and distribute marketing materials for export-readiness seminars. 3) Update Client Management System by entering new rural clients and updating existing rural client records. 4) Update rural media database. 5) Compile rural congressional and state representative database. 6) Canvass for rural successes. 7) Coordinate and rural events, including identifying and recruiting participants. The government will not provide benefits and insurance. Place of performance will be at the U.S. Department of Commerce, Minneapolis U.S. Export Assistance Center, 100 N 6th Street, Suite 210-C, Minneapolis, MN 55403. This requirement is for 325 hours per year (part-time). The contractor shall work 24 hours a week. Contractor shall work a maximum of 8 hours per day, Monday through Friday except Federal holidays. Travel and subsistence expenses incurred shall be reimbursed in accordance with the Federal Acquisition Regulations and Federal Travel Regulations procedures. This requirement is exempt from coverage under the Fair Labor Standards Act. Knowledge Requirements: 1) Knowledge of basic principles and factors which influence trade and trade positions of various industries and countries. 2) Ability to research, analyze and interpret empirical trade and economic data and information, 3) Contractor shall be able in writing and verbally to efficiently summarize trade data and information clearly concisely. Unique Requirements: 1) Contractor must be able to effectively use and manage office automation hardware and applications software in the performance of duties, 2) Contractor shall be able to counsel on trade finance, referring clients to appropriate private and public sector sources and providing information on the mechanics associated with trade finance transactions. The period of performance is for a base period, estimated start date on or about February 20, 2006 thru September 30, 2007. The work performed during the option period, if exercised, will be the same as that performed during the base period. This is a small business set-aside. The NAICS code for this action is 541611.
