Description

The Bureau of Reclamation, Lower Colorado Region, Hoover Dam, has a requirement for the removal and replacement of an existing HVAC Unit on the 7th floor. The existing HVAC unit is rated at 20 tons. There are two circuits, each with a ten-ton compressor, an evaporator, and two condensers. The existing unit is 22 years old. Cold service water (60 degrees F or less) supply and return piping are provided to the unit. This unit has a leak in one of the R-22 coolant circuits. The leak is indicated by dye visible at the evaporator. (another leak may also exist in the condenser). The existing HVAC unit will be replaced by a new AC unit rated at 20 tons. This requirement is being procured under Simplified Acquisition Procedures (SAP) and is set aside for small businesses. The North American Industry Classification Systems (NAICS) code is 333415. The size standard is 750 employees. Effective October 1, 2003, prospective vendors must be registered in the Central Contractor Register (CCR) prior to the award of a contract. You may register by going to: www.ccr.gov. You will need your Dun & Bradstreet number and banking information. It is anticipated that a Request for Quote (RFQ) will be issued on or about January 11, 2007, and awarded on or about February 8, 2007; however, all dates in this announcement are subject to change. The RFQ will be issued via www.fedbizopps.gov. A site visit is scheduled for January 17, 2007, from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 p.m., PST. Prospective bidders will meet at the area of the flagpole near the Visitors Center on top of Hoover Dam at 9:30 a.m., PST. Bidders may park in the visitor center parking garage for a fee of $7.00. A Request for Quote is being issued to facilitate submittal of quotes through electronic commerce, and to view all the applicable clauses and attachments.
