Description
The United States Army Joint Munitions & Lethality Life Cycle Management Command (JM&L LCMC), Acquisition Center, Picatinny Arsenal, New Jersey 07806- 5000 on behalf of the Office of Project Manager Close Combat Systems, intends to issue a solicitation, restricted to US and Canadian firms, per FAR 6.302.3, for Modernized Demolition Initiators, (MDI), M21, M22, M23 and M9 Holder. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code is 325920. A five-year, Firm Fixed Price Indefinite Delivery Indefinite Quantity contract is anticipated for this acquisition. The solicitation will be for the manufacture, assembly, inspection, packaging and delivery, of quantities ranging from 1,500 to 50,000 units per year, for the M21 and M23, respectively. M22 Inert quantities will range from 1,500 to 20,000 units, per year. Production of both M21 and M23 involves the handling of energetic material. M9 Holder quantities will range from 50,000 to 1,000,000 per year, consisting of M9s incorporated as components in the M21, M22 and M23 assemblies, as well as individual quantities of the M9 purchased as standalone items. Eight(8) bid samples of the M21, or eight (8) bid samples of the M23, will be required and made part of the evaluation and source selection process. The M21, Cap Blasting In-line initiator, Non-electric, 500ft. minitube, the M22 Cap, Blasting, In-line, initiator, non-electric, 500ft minitube, Inert; the M23, Cap, Blasting, In-line initiator, non-electric, 100ft and the M9 Holder are described in Performance Spectification QAA-1430, which will be avaiable upon release of the solicitation. A Request for Proposal will be posted in Fed Biz Opps on or about January 25, 2007. This date is an estimate and is subject to amendment. Offeror???s proposal, along with their respective bid samples, will be required within thirty (30) days from release date of the RFP.
