Description

USACE, Vicksburg Consolidated Contracting Office proposes to issue a sole source award to ALFAB, Inc., PO Box 311327, Enterprise, AL, 36331-1327. The purpose of the award is for the vendor to provide the Rapid Parking Ramp Extension (RPRE) Project wi th 3,888 square feet of AM2 aluminum landing mat necessary to perform a variety of subgrade sensitivity tests in an experimental test section located at the ERDC, Vicksburg, MS, site. The AM2 landing mat required for the RPRE project is of modification fiv e and is currently deployed worldwide for military operations. The test requires the AM2 landing mat to be constructed to current specifications and is identical to that currently being used for military operations. Upcoming tests will use identical AM2 la nding mat over a stronger subgrade in order to determine increased performance. ALFAB, Inc. has been identified as the only vendor in the United States producing AM2 aluminum landing mat for the Department of Defense. This fact, coupled with the need for i dentical landing mat to make direct comparison of performance gains with subgrade strength increases makes ALFAB, Inc. the sole supplier for this project. A firm-fixed price award will be made utilizing the Simplified Acquisition Procedures. Any other responsible source able to provide the supplies is encouraged to respond to this announcement within 5 days after its publication. This is not a request for q uotations and there is no solicitation available at this time.
