- The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Great Lakes Region has a requirement to provide weed control services at the following four (4) locations: O'Hare International Airport, Chicago, Illinois; Midway International Airport, Chicago, Illinois; DuPage System Support Center, and Rockford System Support Center. The period of performance is to commence March 1, 2007 for an initial period of eight (8) months. There are four (4) one-year option periods. This project consists of "Rights-of-Way" Weed Control for various facilities within Chicago System Management Office. Contractor shall apply chemical herbicides to the areas specified for the purpose of preventing the germination and growth of all vegetation during the growing season of each contract year. Offerors must submit pricing for all four (4) sites. Company must have at least three (3) years experience in weed control services to include other government agencies or large size companies Evaluation of proposals to this SIR will rely heavily on Past Performance. The Government is seeking offers that provide the best combination of quality and price in order to select the greatest value of "Best Buy" offers. Therefore, award may be made to other than the lowest offer. One award will be made for all four (4) locations. This Notice is for informational purposes for Minority, Women-Owned and Disadvantaged Business Enterprises: The Department of Transportation (DOT), Office of Small and Disadvantaged Business Utilization, has a program to assist small businesses, small businesses owned and controlled by a socially and economically disadvantaged individuals, and women-owned concerns to acquire short-term working capital assistance for transportation-related contracts. Loans are available under the DOT short Term Lending Program (STLP) at prime interest rates to provide accounts receivable financing. The maximum line of credit is $750,000.
