- Arcata Associates, Inc (Arcata/UNITeS) is seeking sources for the acquisition of various components used in the construction or upgrade of custom engineered Video Teleconferencing (ViTS) and Voice Teleconferencing (VoTS) Systems at various National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) centers nationwide. Based on the information received, Arcata/UNITeS intends to solicit and award; at its sole discretion, one or possibly multiple Indefinite Delivery/Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) contracts for these items. The items to be covered by the agreements will include both Commercial Off the Shelf (COTS) products and some custom produced products. The COTS products include, but are not limited to, items such as video cameras, flat panel TV monitors, amplifiers (audio and video), control systems, switchers, mixers, microphones, equipment enclosures, cables, connectors, codecs, recorders, speakers and various brackets, mounts or other hardware required to install these customized systems into dedicated rooms. The custom products include, but are not limited to, items such as camera or speaker enclosures and shelves, podiums (with controller functions), junction boxes and tabletop accessories. These products are generally available from a variety of manufacturers and distributors. Since the components specified have all been previously utilized; the necessary integration of hardware and software has been performed and proven in daily use. Alternate or substitute products may be considered; however, for the items to be considered, the offeror would have to provide an evaluation unit to Arcata/UNITeS at no cost for integration and test purposes before the product could be included as a CLIN. Equipment manufacturers include companies such as AMX, AutoPatch, Clearone, Crown, JVC, NEC, Panasonic, Polycom, Shure, Sony and many others. A draft/sample listing of products is being provided under this "Sources Sought" Notice as an EXCEL file, though a formal listing of products and quantities will be provided with the solicitation. Because of the visibility of this effort and the necessity to meet agressive delivery schedules, the successful offeror(s) may be required to stock certain products enabling overnight delivery, with a quick turnaround required for all items after release of a delivery order. Stock and delivery requirements will be detailed in the solicitation. Additionally, because of the short product life cycle and volatility of market availability for these products there will be a requirement for technology refresh during the IDIQ period of performance. This technology refresh is not expected to occur more often than semi-annually, but may occur as often as quarterly based on market conditions. Please provide via email or US Postal Service your statement of interest and a brief (one page or less) company overview to the responsible buyer listed below no later than December 26, 2006. No telephone or oral contact will be allowed. Your statement of interest should identify the point of contact including name, address, telephone number, and email address of the person who should receive the solicitation, once released. Arcata/UNITeS anticipates release of a solicitation within thirty days; however, this Sources Sought Notice is not a solicitation and there is no guarantee that a solicitation or contract award will follow.
