Description
The Upgraded Solid State Recorder (USSR) will take the place of the Solid State Recorder (SSR) in F/A-18F and EA-18G aircraft equipped with an 8x10 format display. The USSR maintains all current capabilities of the SSR. The USSR provides the (new) capability to record the 8x10 display format, and play-back this display format at a ground station without distortion or loss of image data. The Naval Air Systems Command intends to issue an Order, under NAVAIR Basic Ordering Agreement (BOA) N00019-05-G-0026, with McDonnell Douglas Corporation (MDC), a Wholly Owned Subsidiary of The Boeing Company, St. Louis, MO 63166-0516. MDC is the sole designer, developer, manufacturer and supplier of the F/A-18 Weapon System, and only MD has the F/A-18 peculiar engineering data, capability, resources and expertise required to perform NAVAIR??s requirements. The NAVAIR intends to procure Source Selection, Proposal Prep, Non-Recurring Engineering, and Recurring for the Upgraded Solid State Recording System (USSR). Source Selection and Proposal Preparation MDC will perform vendor source selection using NAVAIR requirements documented. MDC will perform proposal preparation and provide cost proposal for a two-step ECP leading to production incorporation of USSR in F/A-18F and EA-18G Lot 32 and up aircraft as well as retrofit of USSR in F/A-18F and EA-18G Lot 26 to 31 Non-Recurring Engineering: MDC will perform non-recurring engineering, for forward fit and retrofit, to include: ?{ Design and Development ?{ Information Assurance ?{ ILS, LSA, and provisioning ?{ Retrofit Technical Directive ?{ Validation and Verification installation kits Recurring: MDC will provide price break out for the following recurring items: ?{ Production forward fit kits for F/A-18F and EA-18G Lot 32 and up aircraft ?{ Delta Sustaining ?{ Operational support assets for F/A-18F and EA-18G Lot 32 and up aircraft at a ratio of 1.75 per aircraft. ?{ Playback Software (Licenses) at ratio of 8/12 per aircraft ?{ Retrofit Kits for F/A-18F aircraft ?{ Retrofit Installations for F/A-18F aircraft ?{ Operational support assets for F/A-18F ?{ Playback Software (Licenses) ?{ Retrofit Kits for E/A-18G aircraft ?{ Retrofit Installations for E/A-18G aircraft ?{ Operational support assets for EA-18G ?{ Playback Software (Licenses) Upon contract award Boeing will procure equipment, plan, and perform activities resulting in the incorporation of the USSR into the designated aircraft. As this is a sole source procurement, Numbered Note 22 applies.
