- This synopsis is being posted to both the Federal Business Opportunities(FBO) page located at http://www.fbo.gov and the Navy Electronic Commerce on Line(NECO) site located at https://www.neco.navy.mil. While it is understood that FBO is the single point of entry for posting of synopsis and solicitations to the internet, NECO is the alternative in case FBO is unavailable. Please feel free to use either site to access information posted by the Navy Sea Systems Command. NUWCDiv Newport intends to place a sole source Fixed Price order with Applied Systems Engineering (AES), Fort Worth, TX for 1 ea. Model 327X-6210 100KW, 8.5-9.6 GHz Magnetron Transmitter and 1 ea. Model 327KU-6210 100KW, 14.0-15.2 GHz Magnetron Transmitter for shipment to Virginia Beach, VA 23459. Delivery is to be within 7 months. The basis for the sole source is that any other transmitter would result in extensive and costly software modifications and facility recertification. The solicitation is expected to be made available no earlier than 04 December 2006. The proposed action is for supplies for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source using SAP and commercial item procedures as set forth in FAR Parts 12 and 13. Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement or submit proposals. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. However, all proposals received by the closing date will be considered by the Government. A determination not to compete this proposed contract based on responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
