Description

General: The National Park Service (NPS), Department of Interior, is conducting a sources sought for the work described below. This notification is for market research purposes to identify potential contractors who have the skills, experience, and knowledge required to successfully complete this effort and does NOT constitute a commitment, implied or otherwise, that a procurement will be accomplished. Interest received and information obtained in response to this notice will be used in determining the area of consideration/possible small business set-aside for solicitation of this project. Project Description: Rehabilitation/renovation of approximately 34,000 square feet of the existing visitor center at Carlsbad Caverns National Park, new construction of adjacent restroom facilities and a two-story elevator and stairway for staff access, a new commercial HVAC and control system, new electrical systems, new membrane roof, new fire sprinkler system, new fire and intrusion alarm systems, all new interior and exterior finishes, including asbestos and lead paint abatement. In addition, the project has an aggressive schedule of 9 MONTHS from start to finish, and the successful offeror must maintain access to the facility and safe ingress and egress to the elevators that serve the caverns. Magnitude: Between $6,000,000 - $8,000,000.
