Description
The purpose of this amendment is to answer vendor questions: Q1: Please clarify Q/A # 4 (Mod 3) - The RFQ states that the Target is (Two feet; Height above ground: 0) That places the bottom of the concrete target at ground level. Ground 0 being top of existing dirt. With the target sitting above ground. Miner grading to be leveling of casting pad on natural grade. A1: The bottom of the concrete is on the existing ground level. All 2ft of the slab is above ground. Q2: Dec. 8 completion? Does this mean pour and strip forms complete by Dec. 8 with curing continuing after Dec. 8? A2: Slab must be poured by 8 December 2006. The forms can be stripped after that date. Q3: Curing? Spray with curing compound? No water curing required. A3: Water curing cannot be used. If a curing compound will help, then it can be used. Q4: Is there a federal wage determination that will apply to this project? A4: This item is considered a deliverable product or supply. It is not a service. Q5: Is the surface of target to be level with the lake bed? Do we need to excavate 2 ft deep and compact the bottom? Any compaction requirements? A5: Again, the bottom of the concrete is on the existing ground level. All 2ft of slab is above ground. No compaction is required. Q6: Is there any surface finishing requirement? How level and smooth does the concrete need to be? A6: It does not have to be as smooth or as level as a standard driveway but close. A rough trowel finish is fine. Q7: It sounds like this target is in a dry lake bed. How solid is the surface? Can we drive concrete trucks on it without doing any additional grading or compaction? A7: Yes, the build site is on the lake bed, and concrete trucks have no problem. No compaction required. Q8: How far out onto the lake bed is the location? A8: 1/2 mile. Q9: Is there 1 mat of rebar or 2? Q9: One mat. Q10: Who is responsible for performing the testing? Are we responsible for any costs related to testing? A10: The customer will handle the testing of the samples. The contractor is not responsible for any costs related to testing. Q11: Can we pour against the sides of the excavation or do we need to form the sides? A11: It will have to be formed; no part of the slab is buried. IMPORTANT: Due to some information that was just brought to our attention, the new award date will be 16 November 2006 and the new completion date will be 8 December 2006. The Contract office will be closed Friday, 11/10, through Sunday,11/12. The closing date for proposals will not be extended.
