Description
Contracting Office Address United States Postal Service, Supplies and Services Purchasing, Automation CMC, 8403 Lee Highway Dewey Bldg, Merrifield, VA, 22082-8150 Description The United States Postal Service is currently seeking a source to move equipment within and between exiting Postal Service facilities. The following Postal Service equipment will be included; DBCS, AFSM100 and SPBS Machines. The following steps should be included; inspection, pre-teardown, teardown, relocation/installation, and post re-installation testing and performance requirements for from estimated 1 to 60 each of the respective Machines, including attached feed systems. Requests for information and the program data submission should be provided to Mr. Mark Travers, Contracting Officer, Automation CMC, 8403 Lee Highway, Merrifield, VA, 22082-8150, Telephone (703) 280-7953. Requirements: Specification System Relocation; DBCS, AFSM-100 AND SPBS Program. Background: Reorganization of mail processing operations, including the installation of new mail processing equipment often make necessary the relocation of existing mail processing equipment. Particularly impacted are the AFSM 100 and SPBS machines. These systems require relocation, often, with relatively short notice. There are hundreds of these respective machines located in mail processing facilities across the country. Variations in the location, installation, configuration, condition, etc. of these systems make necessary a pricing strategy that is flexible with a reasonable sharing of risks. The best suited contract type is an indefinite delivery type contract with time and materials type features. Firm fixed unit priced orders for each respective relocation is considered appropriate. SCHEDULE AND DELIVERABLES: For purposes of this process assessment and market survey, potential vendors shall provide performance data for similar relocation programs for USPS review. This information should include a complete description of a program which substantiates the vendor?s ability to meet the requirements in this specification. This written information shall be provided no later than December 01, 2006. Following USPS review of the submitted program performance data, pre-qualification determination will be made. Interested parties of this sources sought are to submit a total of two copies (one hard copy and one soft copy) of any company promotional handouts, brochures, catalogs. Overly elaborate responses are neither expected nor required. The USPS by issuance of this notice makes no commitment to accept the program as provided by the supplier.
