Description
PLEASE NOTE: This market survey was previously published under number W15QKN-06-X-0426. This new survey is being posted to allow interested parties to request a copy of the MK19 TDP by following the directions as called out below. There is no need to resubmit capability information previously provided under W15QKN-06-X-0426. The U.S. Army is looking for interested sources to produce a quantity of 57 MK19 Mod 3 40MM Grenade Machine Guns (GMG) with the potential quantities ranging from 1,584 to 1,800 weapons which would include a base contract plus options. The MK19 Mod 3 GMG is a crew served, man portable, 40 MM grenade machine gun capable of full automatic fire delivering aimed fire to area targets up to 2200 meters and with a rate of fire of 325-400 rounds per minute (RPM). The MK19 Mod 3 GMG can be used from either the ground or vehicle mounted applications. The MK19 Mod 3 GMG is a sensitive Category II item as described under DOD 5100.76-M, Physical Security of Sensitive Conventional Arms, Ammunition and Explosives. Interested parties must be able to provide proof and demonstrate the ability to manufacture the MK19 Mod 3 GMG to the performance characteristics outlined in MIL-G-70790. A copy of this specification can be found at http://assist.daps.dla.mil. In addition potential contractors will be required to provide appropriate firing ranges to constrain the function firing of the MK19 Mod 3 GMG in accordance with Army and OSHA standards. All live fire would be accomplished by remote fire. Contractors must be able to make initial deliveries no later than 12-15 months after contract award. This is a market survey only and does not constitute a request for proposal. There is no formal solicitation available at this time. If a formal solicitation is generated at a later date, a solicitation notice will be published. The Technical Data Package (TDP) for the MK19 is marked Limited Distribution D, Distribution authorized to the Department of Defense and its DoD contractors only. Any parties interested in obtaining a copy of this TDP must submit a written request along with a certified DD Form 2345, Militarily Technical Data Agreement to Jennifer Aber, Contract Specialist at jaber@pica.army.mil. No award will be made from this market survey. All information is to be submitted at no cost or obligation to the Government
