Description
This is a SOURCES SOUGHT SYNOPSIS only - There is no solicitation available at this time. Requests for a solicitation will not receive a response. This notice does not constitute a commitment by the Government. UNICOR, Federal Prison Industries is seeking to identify sources that possess the expertise, capabilities, and experience to meet UNICOR?s requirement for market research in industrial market sectors. The information provided in response to this sources sought announcement will be used to finalize the acquisition strategy for this requirement. This is not a request for proposal and in no way commits the Government to award a contract. The Government will not reimburse any concern for any information that is submitted in response to this sources sought request. Any information submitted is voluntary. UNICOR, Federal Prison Industries is a self supporting government corporation within the U.S. Department of Justice with a twofold mission - to train the inmates within the federal prisons so they have marketable skills upon release and to employ them so that they are productive during their incarceration as a means to manage the inmate population. UNICOR is comprised of seven business groups ( Clothing & Textiles, Electronics, Fleet Management, Industrial Products, Office Furniture, Recycling and Services. UNICOR?s web site is www.unicor.gov UNICOR, Federal Prison Industries is seeking a consultant to perform analyses of industrial market sectors in the United States. The goal of the analyses would be to: ? identify sectors or companies sending work out of the U.S., and potential opportunities for FPI to cost effectively perform and repatriate some of this work. ? identify markets niches and/or potential new products best suited to UNICOR, both in traditional industries (e.g. Electronics, Office Furniture, Textiles, Metals) and service industries. ? identify the best means of obtaining new work within the federal sector or as a subcontractor to federal sector prime contractors.. ? recommend specific customers/partners to target along with suggested points of contact. For each area identified the product of the analysis would result in: ? a market assessment - including a competitive analysis, along with pricing information of both domestic and foreign firms doing similar work. ? a marketing and business development implementation strategy - including best solution recommendations for selling UNICOR products/services. ? an evaluation of UNICOR?s present capabilities. The anticipated North American Industrial Classification System (NAICS) codes for this acquisition are 541613, 541618, and 541910. All small business respondents shall confirm that their size status is small according to their applicable GSA FSS schedule. Interested GSA schedule holders and non-GSA schedule holders are invited to submit to the contracting office as early as possible, but not later than fourteen (14) calendar days after announcement, a five (5)-page maximum Capability Statement summarizing corporate knowledge and experience in relation to the following criteria: (1) Evidence of the ability to provide services (in whole or in part) similar in scope and complexity to the above requirements; (2) Past performance information demonstrating relevant past experience in any or all of the functional task areas referenced above within the past five years; (3) Identify small business category and/or socio-economic group, (4) GSA schedule holders identify their GSA contract number, (5) Non GSA schedule holders need to submit pricing information . If planning to team or subcontract, identify the firm(s), size status and corresponding GSA schedule(s). Segregate this information on the Capability Statement by firm. Also, please specify by name one primary and one alternate Point of Contact (POC) within your firm, including their respective telephone numbers and email addresses. All information must be contained within the capability statement page limit. Responses must be provided electronically to the Joscie Barnes, Contracting Officer listed below. Federal Prison Industries will acknowledge receipt of Capability Statement submissions via return e-mail. Acceptable sources must hold a GSA schedule, qualify under the applicable NAICS code.
