- CONTACT Stanley Chan, Electronics Engineer, (732) 532-1862. This is a market survey to locate additional sources for NSN 5820-01-366-4120, AN/PSC-5 radio set; NSN 5820-01-483-0567, AN/PSC-5B radio set, NSN 5820-01-483-0568, AN/PSC-5C radio sets; the associated spare parts for these radio sets and the AN/PSC-5 to AN/PSC-5C Modification Kits. The AN/PSC-5 is an ultra high frequency (UHF) lightweight, Demand Assigned Multiple Access (DAMA), manpack radio set. It provides Line-of-Sight (LOS), tactical Sat ellite Communications (SATCOM). It has embedded Communication-Security (COMSEC) and Transmission Security (TRANSEC), and weighs less than twelve pounds. It operates in the 30 to 400 megahertz frequency range and provides both data and voice communications . Employed down to the battalion level, it provides range extension and reliability. It is used to transmit intelligence traffic, to interface with the Single Channel Ground and Airborne Radio System (SINCGARS) SC, and to transmit/receive command-and-cont rol traffic. The AN/PSC-5B version was designed for and is acquired to meet Foreign Military Sales (FMS) requirements. The AN/PSC-5C version extends the frequency range to 420 megahertz, and also provides Have Quick, SINCGARS frequency hopping, and maritim e operational capability. System requirements include MELP vocoding for improved voice recognition in narrowband SATCOM and DAMA; a PPP/IP interface for Tactical Internet Range Extension (TI-RE) via MIL-STD-188-184 (AN/PSC-5C requirements); direct interfac e to Vmail ADC, and access MIL-STD-188-184 ADC mode without Vmail; data rates to 48 kbps using MIL-STD- 188-181B in wide band, and up to 9.6 kbps in narrowband, with ADC and TI-RE accessible for these data rates. Both the AN/PSC-5 and AN/PSC-5C must provi de 18 to 28 watts constant power output under all conditions, including extended key down periods, and they must be fully Over-the-Air-Rekeying/Over-the-Air-Transfer (OTAR/OTAT) capable using an external Net Control Device (NCD). The AN/PSC-5C must be fiel d reprogrammable for radio operation upgrade. User interface, including menus, must be designed for minimal training. The AN/PSC-5, AN/PSC-5B and AN/PSC-5C must be capable of cloning with each other, as well as with the AN/PSC-5D. These radios shall have e xtensive Built-In Test (BIT) to allow Direct Support (DS) maintenance to the module level in less than 30 minutes. All components/modules must be interchangeable with existing spares currently in the DoD standard logistics system. Validated/ verified techn ical manuals and other logistics documentation must also be available within the DoD logistics system. The following associated spare parts to be procured along with these radio sets: NSN 5820-01-366-4121 Receiver-Transmitter (RT-1672/U(C)); NSN 5820-01-48 3-0565, Receiver-Transmitter (RT-1672B/U(C)); NSN 5820-01-483-0566 Receiver-Transmitter (RT-1672C/U(C)); NSN 5895-01-410-7447, Panel, Control, Electrical-Electro (Front Panel Assembly); NSN 5810-01-497-6613, Communication-Security (Enhance COMSEC Module); NSN 5895-01-497-5970, Modem Communication (Second Generation Modem); NSN 5820-01-410-7439 Receiver, Radio (RF/IF Module); NSN TBA Control, Receiver-Transmit (Upgraded Enhanced Controller), NSN 5820-01-509-9027, Enhance Transmitter Module; NSN 5895-01-410-7 440 Amplifier-Converter (TX Driver Module); NSN 5895-01-500-3402, Synthesizer, electrical (Enhance Synthesizer Module); NSN 5998-01-412-3322 Backplane Assembly (Motherboard); NSN 5998-01-446-5213 Printed Circuit Board (Power Regulator CCA); NSN 5962-01-503 -7323 Microcircuit (Hermes Chip); NSN 5985-01-419-3298 VHF/UHF LOS Antenna; NSN 5985-01-477-6704 VHF Antenna; NSN 5985-01-477-6714 VHF/UHF Antenna; NSN 5995-01-409-0796 Cable Assembly, Special Purpose (Satellite Antenna Cable); NSN 5995-01-410-7454 Cable A ssembly, Special Purpose SINCGARS Retransmit Cable); NSN 5995-01-410-7455 Cable Assembly, Special Purpose (DMDG Interface Cable); NSN 5995-01-410-7456 Cable Ass embly, Special Purpose (KL-43C Interface Cable); NSN 5995-01-410-7457 Cable Assembly, Special Purpose (AN/PSc-2A Interface Cable); NSN 5995-01-412-9592 Cable Assembly, Special Purpose (AN/PSC-5 Retransmit Cable); NSN 5995-01-412-9593 Cable Assembly, Specia l Purpose (Cloning Cable); NSN 5995-01-477-6278 Reprogramming Cable; NSN 5995-01-477-6658 Data Adapter; NSN 5995-01-477-6661 Remote Data Adapter; NSN 5995-01-477-6664 GPS Tod Cable; 5895-01-477-6696 Remote Control (Portable Remote Control Device (PRCD)); NSN 5895-01-410-7446 Interface Unit, Communications Equipment; NSN 5980-01-449-8535 Display, Optoelectric; NSN 5999-01-449-9409 Mounting Pad, Electrical; NSN 6160-01-413-5440 Battery Box Assembly; NSN 9340-01-478-7600 Window, Observation Glass; NSN 5365-01 -416-6368 Spacer, Ring; NSN 5365-01-417-1886 Spacer, Sleeve; NSN 5365-01-448-0223 Spacer, Ring; NSN 5365-01-448-0224 Spacer, Ring; NSN 5930-01-410-7437 Switch, Rotary; NSN 5935-01-410-7435 Connector Assembly; NSN 5935-01-417-7123 Connector Assembly.
