Description

NOTICE: Only local sources will be considered under this solicitation. Local sources are sources (e.g. corporations or partnerships) that are physically located in Japan and authorized (i.e. licensed and registered) to perform in Japan, the type of construction work specified in this solicitation. Specifically, a prospective offeror must be duly authorized to operate and conduct business in Japan and must fully comply with all laws, decrees, labor standards, and regulations of Japan during the perf ormance of the resulting contract. In addition, prior to award of the contract, offeror must be registered with the Government of Japan to do construction work in Japan and possess necessary construction licenses and permits to perform work required under this solicitation. PROJECT INFORMATION: Provide Design and Construction services for a medium switchgear facility at Yokosuka Naval Base, in Yokosuka, Japan. The facility is currently planned as a two-story concrete struct ure housing switchgear on the second floor and a Synchronous Condenser and Frequency Converter on the first floor. Contractor shall provide all equipment to provide a complete and usable facility per the Request for Proposal. This project will also provi de medium voltage distribution from the switchgear facility to substation located on Yokosuka Naval Base and provide upgrades to the existing electrical control room and SCADA system. The solicitation will be issued on or about November 13, 2006. The magn itude of this project is between 1,000,000,000 Japanese Yen and 2,500,000,000 Japanese Yen.
