Description

The U.S. Aviation Applied Technology Directorate proposes to procure, on a sole source basis, one CDU-900Y (P/N 822-0948-002). The intended source is Rockwell Collins, Incorporated, 400 Collins Road NE, Cedar Rapids, IA 52498. Rockwell Collins is t he only qualified vendor that supplies this item as this company is the original equipment manufacturer. The authority to use other than full and open competition is FAR 6.302-1, Only One Responsible Source. Rockwell Collins is the only manufacturer that can provide this CDU within the Governments schedule and financial limitation. Procuring from any other manufacturer would require design and development of a replacement item proving to be untimely, as well as cost prohibitive. Procuring any item, oth er than the CDU 900Y, would negate inventory commonality. The anticipated award date is 1 November, 2006. Delivery is required no later than 1 August 2007.
