- Description
- Invitation to 10 Print Capture Industry Day The Department of Homeland Security (DHS), Department of State (DOS), Department of Justice (DOJ), Department of Defense (DoD), and National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), jointly defined an urgent, near-term demand for faster, smaller, more mobile, 10 fingerprint slap capture devices to meet critical national security needs. These departments organized a unified User Group, developed standardized requirements, and co-sponsored a ?Challenge to Industry? as the first step towards meeting these common needs. These requirements represented the consensus position of the participants of the User Group. The purpose of this notice is to invite fingerprint scanner hardware and software vendors to a 10 Print Capture Industry Day, to be held at ?The Top of the Town?, 1400 North 14th Street, Arlington, VA 22209 on November 13, 2006 from 1:00PM to 5:00PM. During the Industry Day, the User Group will provide more detailed information about the requirements, clarify business needs, and communicate plans from the government agencies. Vendors with 10-Print capture devices meeting the attached requirements are invited to display their capture device. If you are interested in displaying your 10-Print capture device you must pre-register. Please plan on arriving an hour before the 1:00PM start time in order to set-up your device. Note: Display space is limited to a 6?X2? table and you must supply your own power sources (i.e. power strips, extension cords, etc.). Attached to this announcement are the User Group revised set of requirements and a vendor questionnaire. Interested vendors are requested to pre-register and provide answers to the attached Vendor Questionnaire. Also, vendors are encouraged to submit any questions with regards to the 10 print capture initiative to the User Group. Please submit the answers to the questionnaire and your questions to the User Group by Friday, November 3rd, 2006 electronically Mr. Stanley Robinson at Stanley.Robinson@dhs.gov. We are requesting that each vendor limit participation to no more than three persons. Each attendee is requested to provide the following information electronically to Mr. Robinson not later than Friday, November 3rd, 2006.
