Description
Scope: The Combat Clothing Utility Subcommittee  Hook and Loop Task Group announces their first meeting on Tuesday November 7, 2006 at the Natick Soldier Research, Development and Engineering Center, Natick Massachusetts. Time: 8:30 a.m.  1:30 p.m. The meeting is open to all interested parties and maximum participation from government and industry representatives is highly encouraged. (Please note: non-U.S. citizens need to contact Natick no later than 2 November see registration information.) Objective: The objectives of the task group is to discuss issues which arouse during the updating, revision and coordination of the recently published Commercial Item Description A-A-55126B Fastener Tape, Hook and Loop, Synthetic with the ultimate goal of improving t he document to the satisfaction of both the users and producers of the products. Agenda: A tentative agenda is listed below outlining issues which need further discussion and investigation to determine the future direction of the document. Introductions - Task Group Chair: Mr. Kevin Canty, Velcro, USA,Inc. - DSCP Chair: Jackie Carlin - Natick Technical POC Hook and Loop  Steve Szczesuil - ACU Project Officer  Denis Tolliver - Natick Configuration Management Group - Participant introductions Background and History of the Hook and Loop Document - Major changes made to the document during the latest revision Discussion Topics - Frequency of testing - Nomex Fastener tapes (Type 1 Class 2)  Stitch tear requirement/NFPA 1975 - Improved performance in terms of hooks resistance to debris - Heavy duty vs. light duty - Woven vs. extruded - MIL spec Vs CID - Shear Strength  Class 4 Further topics/discussions generated from participants Review of Action Items Establish tentative date and topics for next meeting Location Conference Center - Natick Soldier Research, Development and Engineering Center, Natick Massachusetts. Parking Free to employees and visitors. Note: All visitors will need to check in at the front entrance and present a photo ID to security. All vehicles will be searched upon entry. Guards will direct you to the conference center. Visitor Transportation and Lodging Visitor transportation is not available from Logan Airport. Rental cars or Mass Transit (Logan Express) should be utilized. Motels are centrally located. Directions to Natick Soldier Research, Development and Engineering Center, from Logan: 1. From Logan Airport take Ted Williams Tunnel exit which turns into Mass Turnpike West (I-90 W). 2. Follow I-90 West to exit 13 (See sign U.S Army Labs). 3. Stay to the LEFT, onto COCHITUATE RD/MA-30. 4. Turn RIGHT onto SPEEN STREET. 5. Merge onto MA-9 E/WORCESTER RD via the ramp on the left. 6. Turn SLIGHT RIGHT onto the ramp. 7. Turn SLIGHT RIGHT onto N MAIN ST/MA-27. 8. Turn RIGHT onto KANSAS STREET Directions From T.F. Green Airport: When leaving T.F. Green Airport, take the Airport Access Road to Route 95 North. Follow Route 95 North into Massachusetts. Route 495 North approximately ten (10) miles after the Rhode Island/Massachusetts border. Take Route 495 North approximately twenty- three (23) miles to Route 90 (Mass Pike) East. Follow the Mass Pike to Exit 13  Route 30 in Natick. After the tollbooth, take the exit to the left (a sign for Natick Labs is there at the fork). Stay to the LEFT, onto Cochituate Rd./MA-30. Turn right at th e lights onto Speen St. Merge onto MA-9 E/Worcester Rd. via the ramp on the left. Turn slight right onto N Main St/MA-27.
