- Description
- The Social Security Administration (SSA) requires the services of contractors to provide medical consultant services in the specialties of Internal Medicine, Neurology, Orthopedics, and Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation. This procurement will be for commercial item services prepared in accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Part 12 and will be conducted using simplified acquisition procedures in accordance with FAR Part 13. Consultation services shall consist of the paper review of medical evidence in disability claims on-site only at 1221 Nevin Avenue, Richmond, CA. No patient contact. Some travel may be required. The following is required of offerors: (1) a valid license to practice medicine in the U.S.; (2) completion of an accredited residency in any of the above medical specialties or a relevant medical specialty; (3) current or recent clinical experience related to any of the specialties listed, and/or experience reviewing/adjudicating disability cases in any of the specialties listed, and (4) be available for onsite work a minimum of 12 hours per week, at least 2 days per week and for 44 weeks of the calendar year between 6:00 A.M. and 6:00 P.M. Monday through Friday. All potential contractors will be required to pass a security background check before beginning performance on an award. All contractors must be registered in the Central Contractor Registration (CCR)database prior to award of a contract. To register in the CCR at the website: www.ccr.gov, applicants must have a DUN and Bradstreet number (DUNS) and Tax Identification Number (TIN). The base period of performance shall be from approximately January 2, 2007 or date of award, whichever is later, through December 31, 2007, with provisions for the inclusion of three one-year option periods. This requirement is a 100% small business set aside. The North American Industry Classification System Code (NAICS) is 621111 and the size standard is $9.0M. Proposals received from other than small business concerns will be deemed unacceptable and will be given no further consideration. The solicitation is scheduled for release on or about October 25, 2006. The solicitation (and any amendments) will be available for downloading on the Fed Biz Ops (FBO) web page at www.fbo.gov. All parties interested in submitting an offer should download the solicitation from the FBO web site. No telephone requests for the solicitation will be accepted.
