Description
VA Project Number: 437-07-102 VA Project Title: Correct Electrical Deficiencies - 2007 Scope: The A/E shall provide design services for the referenced Fargo VA Medical Center project. Work shall include, but shall not be limited to, a review of the results and recommendations of a VA Central Office hired study completed in November 2005 by Square D Company to determine if all work listed as being required is accurate. The A/E shall provide written documentation to the Fargo VA indicating why it is believed any portion of the work is not required so that the Fargo VA Engineering staff may obtain a judgment from VA Central Office as to whether the work is required or not. The judgment provided by VA Central Office shall be final and work they indicate is required shall be included within the project by the A/E. If it is determined that the work indicated is accurate, the contractor shall provide design documentation, which shall include contract drawings and specifications, so that the VA has record of what is to be done and the contractor has a defined scope of work for construction. The A/E shall utilize and follow the VA design guides, standards, specifications, NRM design submission instructions, etc found at the following VA website: www.va.gov/facmgt. The contractor shall utilize the portions of these guides and requirements that apply to items under the scope of work for this contract. The VA shall provide an edited NRM Submission requirements document after an A/E has been selected by the Fargo VA Medical Center A/E Evaluation Board. The design shall comply with NFPA requirements. The A/E shall perform an Arc Flash and Shock Hazard Study and ensure that the construction contract documents require the construction contractor to provide and install all appropriate markings and labels indicating appropriate approach distances, personal protection equipment (PPE) required and any other NEC required information. The A/E shall turn over copies of all calculations to the Fargo VA Engineering Service. The electronic documentation provided by VA, including AutoCAD floor plans and riser diagrams shall be reviewed and updated by the A/E design firm. The documentation provided by the Fargo VA shall be compatible with AutoCAD 2007, Microsoft Word 2003, Microsoft Excel 2003. The contractor shall be responsible for ensuring that all files (base files, reference files, libraries, etc.) are provided and compatible* with the Fargo VA's software previously indicated and a Windows XP Professional operating system. *Note: Compatible means that data can be accessed directly by the target system without translation or preprocessing of data files. It shall be the responsibility of the contractor to ensure this level of compatibility. All CADD data shall be delivered on CD-ROM, Iomega 100 MB Zip Disk or 3 1/2? double sided, high density, 1.44 MB diskettes. All data files shall be organized using the directory structure (path) as outlined in the CADD Standards, Naming Conventions section of this document. All files will be free of corrupted or unusable data. SF 330 Architect/Engineer Qualifications required. Distance Limitation: Within 150 miles of Fargo, ND. Design Duration: 90 days from the Notice to Proceed, but in no case shall completion of the design be later than June 1, 2007. Design Award: Design award shall be subject to funding and a 90-day acceptance period.
