- Description
- This requirement is for the removal and replacement of one exterior unit substation. All secondary feeders that are fed from this unit substation will also be replaced. Primary cables for this substation will be reused. Removal of existing switchgear control cables containing asbestos will be performed by another contractor in conjunction with this requirement. The awardee will have 6 consecutive calendar days for removal and installation. The work will only be allowed to be executed between 1 April 2007 and 30 October 2007. Also, the duration of the outage for the medium voltage system will be no greater than 60 hours. The outage is typically granted between 1700 hours on Friday evening and 0500 hours on Monday morning. The medium voltage outage will take place during a holiday weekend. The low voltage outage will begin the same time as the medium voltage outage. Also, a one day outage will be given on a weekend to prepare the existing unit substation foundation for a required modification. A site visit is strongly recommended. The performance period shall be as described above. The estimated construction magnitude is between $250,000 and $500,000. Award is pursuant to the Small Business Competitiveness Demonstration Program. Bid opening date shall be 30 calendar days after issuance of the solicitation.
