Description

The US Geological Survey intends to award a noncompetitive purchase order to Carl Zeiss SMT of Thornwood, NY for preventative and remedial maintenance on a LEO 982 scanning electron microscope located in Menlo Park, CA. This is the only known source that has factory-trained service engineers and can provide replacement parts that meet original instrument specifications. The proposed action is for supplies or services for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under authority of Federal Acquisition Regulation 6.302. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals, but interested parties may identify their interest and capability to respond to this requirement to the Contracting Officer (rdonez@usgs.gov) no later than the response date of this announcement. This procurement is pending availability of funds and will be processed to the point of award.
