- Notice of Intent to sole source to Becton Dickinson Biosciences of 2350 Qume Drive, San Jose, CA 95131 for a 4 month lease to buy contract for a Facsaria Cell-Sorting Special Order System. The government believes Becton Dickinson to the only source for this specific special order system meeting the minimum criteria below: 3. Description of Supplies/Services: The BD Biosciences LSR II meets or exceeds the following specifications: " Must have the capability of up to 4 lasers and up to 15 parameters. " Must have the capability of adding new lasers as they become available, e.g. Green or Yellow lasers " Must have the Octagon optical arrangement for the 488 laser (up to 7 colors plus FSC) and the Trigon optical arrangement for the other available lasers. " Must be a bench top flow cytometer with UV Laser. " Must have air-cooled lasers. " Must have fixed alignment lasers. " Must have adjustable optical filters and mirrors for experimental flexibility. " Must be capable of analyzing eight parameters, six fluorescence and two scatter, with two lasers and 9 fluorescence colors, FSC and SSC with 3 lasers and up to 15 parameters with 4 lasers. The two and three laser systems can also be upgraded by adding 2 more PMTs as the fluorochromes are developed. " Must be capable of analyzing 488-nm excited dyes, 405-nm excited dyes, UV excited dyes, and APC dyes. " Must not have special room requirements (no special electrical requirements, no special plumbing requirements, and no special air requirements). " Must provide for performing real-time statistics. " Must be capable of analyzing 16 logical gates. " Must have digital electronics. " Must have the capability to sample from a 96 well microtiter plate with the HTS (High Throughput Sampler). " Must have a proven user base with service support guaranteed within 48 hours.
