- The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) ,William J. Hughes Technical Center intends to award a single source purchase order in accordance with the FAA AMS 3.2.2.4 to Basic Commerce and Industries, Inc. to purchase and ADAS-Rehost for the following reasons: BCI has developed a software package for the Next Generation Automated Weather Observation System Data Acquisition System (ADAS-RH), which provides data acquisition capabilities for AWOS, non-federal AWOS, National Weather Service (NWS) Automated Surface Observing Systems (ASOS), Department of Defense (DoD) Automated Observing Systems (AOS) and AWSS using the High-level Data Link Control Procedures (HDLC), ISO 3309, ISO 4335, ISO 7809, implementing the Class UN (unbalanced normal) in accordance with ISO 7809 and NAS-IC-25083101 on a 1-minute cycle; to determine and report on weather conditions to the aviation weather community as they occur; and to disseminate the weather messages to the National Airspace Data Interchange Network II, Weather Message Switching Center Replacement (WMSCR) and the Integrated Terminal Weather System (ITWS) in accordance with the NAS-IC-25084302, NAS-IC-25082507, and NAS-IC-25082514, respectively and the World Meteorological Organization Publication No. 386 for the Technical Characteristics and Specification for the Global Telecommunication System. This package also makes the 1-minute data observations available via a local client/server IP interface. This announcement shall not be construed as a request for proposal or as an obligation on the part of the FAA. No entitlement to payment or charges to the FAA shall arise as a result of submission of responses to this announcement, or the FAA's use of such information.This announcement is for information purposes only. A competitive solicitation is not available for this procurement.
