Description: Assembly made up of links, tubes, seals, gaskets, bolts, nuts, washers, supports, tie rods and couplings. Function: Fuel actuated to open and close the variable stator vanes. Dimensions: 13X8X5. Material: Titanium. Destn: Tinker AFB OK 73145-9013, FB2039, FOB Origin. Quantity: 8ea (Min 4/Max 12). Delivery: 8ea on or before 29 Jun 2007. The approximate solicitation issue date will be 18 Sep 2006. Response to the solicitation will be due 18 Oct 2006. The anticipated award date will be 13 Nov 2006. Only approved sources may apply. The following source has been approved for this acquisition: General Electric Company (Cage Code: 07482), Cincinnati, OH 45215-1915. Approved sources solicited may submit a bid, proposal, or quotation which shall be considered. Supplies (or Services) required are available from only one or a limited number of responsible source(s) and no other type of supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. It is suggested that small business firms or others interested in subcontracting opportunities in connection with the described procurement make contact with the firm(s) listed. Only written or faxed requests received directly from the requestor is acceptable. Award will be made only if the offeror, the product/service, or the manufacturer meets qualification requirements at the time of award in accordance with FAR clause 52.209-1. The solicitation will contain instructions on obtaining further instructions on the qualification requirement. Due to the complexity and criticality of the parts, only actual manufacturers that have successfully completed all testing required by the original company for the design, or manufacturers that have successfully completed all testing on items can be considered for approved sources for this item. The qualification requirements for this item were established prior to 19 October 1984, and this item qualifies under FAR 9.206-1(a)(2) and the requirements of FAR 9.202(a) are not applicable. Award will not be withheld awaiting qualification. Note: An Ombudsman has been appointed to hear concerns from offerors or potential offerors during the proposal development phase of this acquisition. The purpose of the Ombudsman is not to diminish the authority of the program director or contracting officer, but to communicate contractor concerns, issues, disagreements, and recommendations to the appropriate government personnel. When requested, the Ombudsman will maintain strict confidentiality as to source of the concern. The Ombudsman does not participate in the evaluation of proposals or in the source selection process.
