- Description
- The U.S. Army Program Executive Office for Simulation, Training and Instrumentation (PEO STRI) is contemplating a modification action to contract N61339-05-C-0111, dated 06 July 2005, with Jardon & Howard Technologies to include the following services in accordance with the contract statement of work for a period of four months within the period of performance on the contract: (1) Baby Sign Language (BSL) Project, to provide services for implementation of baby sign language program to Department of Defense (DoD) early childhood programs to include conducting training to key military Training and Curriculum Specialists and providing books and program materials to support the implementation. (2) Shaken Baby Syndrome (SBS) Awareness and Prevention Campaign, to assist (ODUSD/MCFP/FAP) in the implementation of a DoD-wide comprehensive, multi-faceted, standardized SBS public awareness, education and prevention campaign for dissemination at military installations. This comprehensive campaign will provide participants with: (1) information about SBS and its dangers and consequences and (2) options to cope with the frustration of caring for an infant, particularly an inconsolable crying infant. (3) Parents as Teachers (PAT)-Heroes at Home Program, to provide PAT services, as an outreach element of Army garrison Child and Youth Services (CYS), to eligible families at nine Army military garrisons/installations. (4) Press Toolkit, Installation Child Development Center (CDC) Opening Ceremonies. To collect information from Military Services and professional staff in sufficient detail to prepare a toolkit for military installations in conducting CDC openings. The goal of these toolkits is to maximize the focus on child development, growth of spaces, and support for base realignment and mobilization.
