- This synopsis is to announce that Charleston Air Force Base (CAFB) is considering an initiative to offer access to commercial cable television (CATV)providers to install cable on CAFB at no cost to the government. Please note that due to the adjacent dual-use commercial and military airfield, site installation will require an extensive approval process. Currently Comcast is the owner of all CATV wiring and the Government intends to contract with their company for future service. However, if any other commercial cable providers are interested in requesting permission to install cable on base without any contractual commitment from the government to purchase any service or equipment, they should respond to the 437th Contracting Squadron, Walter Gordon, Jr. at (843)963-5162.
