Description
The Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center, VISN 6 Centralized Acquisition Service, intends to negotiate a sole source procurement with Sun Nuclear Corporation, 425A Pineda Court, Melbourne, FL. 32940-7508. This proposed contract action is for a MapCHECK ? IRMT Q/A System which includes: 445 channel 2D array, complete PC software for importing and automatic verification of patient plans from computerized treatment planning systems, includes advanced film analysis, and alignment and film template, 25 meter power-data cable, serial cable, power supply (110/220 V) and one (1) year of software maintenance, DAILY QA CHECK3, (12) total ion chambers for daily output, flatness and symmetry, electron and photon energy verification (no buildup or additional attenuation required), (12) total diode detectors for light radiation field coincidence, real-time air density correction with results displayed on PC Windows software in real time, includes advanced comprehensive database manager for graphical data presentation and daily therapist guide, 25 meter power and data cable, USB/Serial power-data interface, USB cable, and serial cable. The VA intends to procure this requirement on a sole source basis in accordance with the statutory authority of 41 U.S.C. 253(c) (1) as implemented by FAR 6.302-1. Only One Responsible Source and No Other Supplies or Services Will Satisfy Agency Requirements. THIS NOTICE IS NOT A REQUEST FOR COMPETITIVE QUOTES and no solicitation will be issued; however, any firm that believes it can meet the requirements may give written notification to the Contracting Officer within 7 days from the date of the publication of this synopsis. Supporting evidence must be furnished in sufficient detail to demonstrate the ability to comply with the requirement listed. Responses are due by September 5, 2006 at 12:00pm EST. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based on responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. If no responses are received, the VA Medical Center will proceed with a sole source negotiation with Sun Nuclear Corporation.
