Description
This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. The US Fish & Wildlife Service has a need for a pre-fabricated log building Delivery, inspection and acceptance will be at: Kenai National Wildlife Refuge, Attn: Attn: James Hall, Ski Hill Road, Soldotna, AK 99669. As per the following: Log Cabin (Seasonal Staff Housing) Kenai National Wildlife Refuge, Soldotna, Alaska Design/Build Specifications Scope: Provide materials, design and construction documents (complete drawings and specifications of the entire building) of a pre-manufactured log kit consisting of floor, walls, deck, door, windows, and a complete metal roof, including exposed interior wood ceiling of log ridge pole, log purlins, tongue and groove wood decking, metal roofing and trim. 1. Construction Documents: Provide design and construction documents (drawings and specifications) of the entire building showing construction method details, log stacking guide and a detailed material list) for approval of the Contracting Office (CO) prior to starting work. 1. Submit draft documents with design notes for approval of the Refuge and CO prior to submitting final documents. 7. Submit final documents with design notes for final approval of the refuge and CO. 2. Building Description: A. Log building shall be a 16' x 18' (approximately 685 sq. ft.) 1. Saddle notched corners 2. Swedish cope style 3. Full length logs 4. Seven foot side walls 5. Six foot deck 3. Building Design Requirements: A. Logs: 1. Shall be 8 inch diameter logs. 2. Saddle notch, precision round log, fill length, Swedish cope style on horizontal log courses. 3. Log gable ends. 4. Cap log will be 26 feet long and the log below will be 24 feet long to support the cantilevered roof 5. Ridgepole and 2 purlins will be 26 feet long and beveled for decking. 6. Logs will be 19% or less moisture. 7. Logs will be numbered for correct placement during construction. 8. Each course will have one layer of sill sealer fiberglass insulation applied between logs. 9. "Timber loc" screws will be provided to fasten each course to the preceding course or pre-drilled for all thread bolt system. 10. Vertical dado slots in openings for splines. 11. All nails, fasteners and hardware. B. Foundation: 1. Three; 4" x 12" x 24 feet, #2 grade or better wood beams. 2. 2" x 8" joist, 16 inches on center 3. Insulation between floor joists, R-1 1-16 on center (o.c.), un-faced. 4. 6 mil. Poly vapor barrier 5. All nails, fasteners and hardware. C. Floor: 1. ? inch T&G, CDX plywood 2. Floor edge flashing 3. All nails, fasteners and hardware D. Roof: 1. 6/12 pitch 2. A 26' log ridge pole and two 26' log purlins 3. Gable ends shall be log and notched for purlins and ridgepole 4. Interior ceiling finish shall be tongue and groove, 2" x 6" kiln-dried #2 or better Hem-fir 5. Exterior roof shall be pro-panel II Versa Rib 15 pp, dark brown 6. Ridge cap, dark brown 7. Insulation, R-19, 24 inch on center. 8. 4 mil clear poly vapor barrier 9. 30# felt 10. 2" x 8" rafters, 4' o.c. 11. 2" x 4" nailers, 16" o.c. 12. 2" x 10" fascia 13. 6" fiberglass R-19 insulation 14. All nails, screws and hardware E. Deck: 1. Deck will be 2in. x 6 in. SBS kerfed decking material 2. 2" x 6" joists, 16 inch o.c. and joists hangers 3. Log porch railings, stair opening center of deck F. Doors and windows: 1. Door is located in center of gable end 2. Windows are centered in all elevations, except door end where window will be to either side of door 3. Door and windows should be roughed in 4. Metal insulated solid core door with 1/2 window & lower panel pattern 5. l ea -4836 single hung window, argon fill-vinyl 6. 3ea -2436 single hung windows, argon fill-vinyl 7. 2" x door and window jambs 8. Vertical dado slots 9. 1" x 6" cedar exterior window and door trim 10. 1" x 6" cedar interior window and door trim lb. All nails, screws and hardware 12. 1" x 6" sillseal (above door and windows} 4. Building transport: FOB POINT: KENAI NWR, SKI HILL ROAD, SOLDOTNA, ALASKA 99669 The following provisions 52.212-1, Instructions to Offerors-Commercial Items and 52.212-2, Evaluation-Commercial Items apply to this acquisition. A completed copy of 52.212-3, Offeror Representations and Certifications-Commercial Items must be included with the offer.
